Laminated Steel Sheet (Hi-Pet)

Hi-Pet is a film laminated steel sheet that Toyo Kohan developed. One of its typical uses is for "TULC Cans"* which use this material to make cans. This eliminates the painting and cleaning steps when making cans, so that there is a large reduction in CO2 emissions and waste water, helping to achieve an "environment friendly" can production process. We have high expectations for this product for processed food cans and for 18-liter cans.

* "TULC Can" is an abbreviation of "Toyo Ultimate Can." This was developed by Toyo Seikan Co., Ltd.

What is a resin laminated steel sheet (polyester resin sheathed steel sheet)?
A "resin laminated steel sheet' is a steel sheet that has been laminated (thermal compression) with polyester resin which has been given the product name "Hi-Pet."

Properties

"Hi-Pet" can be used to draw various types of cans, for the tops and bottoms of aerosol cans, to make caps, and for the bottoms and tops of 18-liter cans.
Polyester film is laminated on heated TFS or tinplate.
The laminated polyester film is made up of a biaxial orientation layer and a non-orientation layer.
One or both sides can be laminated.
Lamination with white polyester film is also possible.
Please consult with us when you plan to heat laminated steel sheets for painting or printing.
