Tamura: As a salesperson, I think it is my job to understand the requirements of my customers. In this instance, I was able to help start the development of Mirror Coat as a salesperson. I hope that I can do something similar in the future and come up with two or three more items that target the environmental needs. I am originally a researcher, too, so I hope to develop new items as a researcher by using the points of view that I have gained as a salesperson.
Okamura: Toyo Kohan is more well known for its long history, but it is actually producing new items. There is a culture here that takes this as a positive and promotes it, so that we can start various new projects and include the latest technologies. It is a dream workplace for an engineer. Personally, I have a very strong hope to contribute to the world by creating new theories and making things that do not exist and that are totally new. I believe that this will be a positive for both the company and we researchers.
Okamura: I don't know if it's part of our culture, but it is a definite fact that we are involved in new things.
We are not forced to do predetermined things in predetermined ways, so that is very good for us.
Ohba: I was very fortunate to be able to take part in the development of Mirror Coat K from the start. Such experiences are also a matter of timing, and I think that it was very important for me. This project was not limited to only engineers, but the team also included production engineering people and general affairs people, so that my circle of acquaintances widened and I felt that it helped me in my work. Although this project has still not come to an end, I feel that it was able to create a lot of forward movement. I hope to be able to develop an original product that will contribute to society by working on different items or by items that are developments of different items.
Ohba: I have my own theme. Should I develop it? Should I think of something different? I'm not sure, but since my plate is full at the moment, I'll have to ask you to wait in anticipation.
