Community Interaction Day
Thank you all for coming!
On November 8 of 2008, we held our 4th Toyo Kohan Community Interaction Day, welcoming 4,000 visitors to our Kudamatsu plant under cool winter skies.
This year’s Community Interaction Day featured a new event: a round-table discussion between local university exchange students and Toyo Kohan employees, which produced a lively exchange of opinions.
Other events included plant tours with more than 1,500 participants, an elementary school quiz tournament featuring 96 teams (192 pupils), and the Community Interaction Marathon boasting a field of 355 runners. The Community Interaction Day also featured a Can Back Campaign to encourage local residents to recycle their empty cans. On the day, more than 10,000 cans were brought to the plant for recycling as part of this campaign.
With plenty of events for children to enjoy, including stage shows and a hands-on science corner, the day was deemed a great success.
We hope to deepen our relationships of trust and mutual understanding with the local community by continuing to encourage interactions through events such as these in the future.
