Outline of the Mid-term Management Plan (FY 2010 to FY 2012)
Fiscal year 2010, we are establishing even higher goals as we begin to approach our 100th year of business. We are also establishing a new three-year mid-term management plan, STEP UP 100, to position our group favorably in the future, implement our management principles, flexibly utilize our management resources, and press on towards our goals.
1. Toyo Kohan group management principles
- Continuously provide value and contribute to the advancement of the global environment and society.
- Create a corporate environment comfortable for all employees.
- Constantly pursue new technological possibilities to continue to grow as a company.
- Clarifying the responsibilities of sales divisions
Clarify the responsibilities and authority of sales divisions and create detailed business plans. - Improving the productivity of administrative divisions
Deepen the cooperation between the administrative and sales divisions to revolutionize our business and improve cost performance. - Enhancing cooperation between group companies
Enhance our existing business infrastructure, make our research and development more efficient, and create new businesses so as to maximize the synergy between companies in the Toyo Kohan group.
We will set up a system that makes it possible to switch our existing business to a development and proposal-based organization, continuously provide value to our customers, and quickly respond to customer needs. By using this system, we will devise a growth and expansion strategy that involves developing new markets and creating new businesses, which will be embodied by the business strategy below.
- Steel sheet business
• Expanding business in the environment and energy fields
• Developing multifaceted business by expanding sales and manufacturing bases centered on our Chinese subsidiaries
• Acquiring overseas markets for canned drink cans through cooperation with the Toyo Seikan group companies - Functional material business
• Expanding the business scale of optical film for flat panel displays
• Entering the mobile market of magnetic disk substrates - Other business
• Developing customer solution business for devices
